BUS 024 Business Organization
This unit covers the general themes of business organizations (agency, partnership, limited corporation and non-profit organization). It also covers various issues in corporations, including organizational structure, financial rights of shareholders, closed corporation, control in publicly held firms, duties or case and loyalty, and corporate governance.
Performance Requirements :
- Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of business organization.
- Discuss the core structural characteristics of the business corporation, including legal personality, limited liability, transferable shares, centralized management under a board structure and shared ownership by contributions of capital.
- Explain and critically discuss the role of board structures in corporate governance.
- Explore the role of capital markets in aligning the interests of managers with shareholders.
