Professional awards are open to anyone working or interested in Business Administration. We offer four grades of membership to reflect the level of qualification and experience of the candidate.

The five grades of professional awards are:

Honorary Degree of Membership

An honorary degree of membership of CCIBA is an honorary designation bestowed upon individuals in an honorary capacity , usually in perpetuity . These honorary degrees of membership are :
Doctor of Business honoris cause ( Hon. BusD) for outstanding achievement in business or for exceptional service to CCIBA or the community at large.
Doctor of Laws honoris causa (Hon. LLD) for outstanding service as visionary leaders, exemplary public figures, community leaders , humanitarians and philanthropists.
Doctor of Letters honoris causa (Hon. LittD) for distinguished achievement in the social sciences and humanities and for creative works in the arts and performance.
Doctor of Science honoris causa (Hon. ScD) for the creation or application of professional contribution to the field of science technology or life science.
Subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, in exceptional circumstances, CCIBA may confer honorary degrees of membership on individuals who have contributed to the advancement of knowledge or the betterment of society. Only a small number of honorary degrees of membership are made each year, CCIBA and the members join this public recognition and celebration of achievement at the highest levels. The prestige associated with receiving such an honor goes beyond personal achievement, influencing both the recipient and the broader community.
It should be noted that the honorary degree of membership awarded by CCIBA is an honorary designation, and not an earned degree. To avoid confusion, the customary language in a professional setting is the abbreviation “ Hon.” Or honoris causa . It is recommended that in a curriculum vitae or resume the honorary degree of membership be listed under “ honors and awards” and not under “ education “ .
Nominations may be made by any member of CCIBA or by the general public. CCIBA or reserves the right to conduct full background checks of nominees and to factor those findings into the certification process.
Nominations may be made at anytime during the calendar year. The President of CCIBA or his representative will designate the commencement ceremony at which each successful candidate will be invited to receive the honorary award.
