BUS 048 International Trade and Investment

This unit focuses on the emergence of a global marketplace and considers its implications for international trade and investment. It aims to examine the interactions between economic, political, strategic and legal aspects of international trade and investment policies at national, regional and global levels, including the ways in which WTO members are affected by regional and multilateral trade agreements.

Performance Requirements :

  1. Critically analyze the main trends of international trade and investment, justifying forecasts and predictions into the next 5 years.
  2. Assess the costs and benefits of foreign direct investment to receiving and source countries.
  3. Discuss the role played by World Trade Organization ( WTO) in international trade and investment.
  4. Examine the risks of international investment, and identify key information sources for balancing and controlling risks.
