This Unit expands on the components of logistics system and further develops the importance of the supply chain in a business. The topics include supply chain integration inventory management, risk pooling, procurement, product and process design, and global supply chain.

Performance Requirements :

1. Identify the goal of a supply chain , and evaluate the impact of supply chain on business performance of a firm.
2. Develop a set of performance measures that are relevant to a supply chain.
3. Discuss the importance of information technology in supply chain management.
4. Identify global supply chain opportunities and international alliances and partnership for a particular firm.
