BUS 034 Business Law
This unit covers the legal aspects of all business transactions and examines the use and legal effect of contracts. Topics include negotiated contracts, standard form contracts and deeds, the structure and common clauses of contacts, along with the different requirements attaching to the rights and obligations of parties to a contract-governed transaction.
Performance Requirements :
- Evaluate the nature and effect of key parts of negotiated and standard form consumer contracts.
- Explain how contracts are drafted in specific ways to meet specific needs in the business transactions.
- Examine how contract intersects with other fields of substantive low, consumer protection, tax and insolvency.
- Discuss the objectives of labour law, and three significant protections given to employees.
