This unit is designed to introduce the vital concepts, models and ideas that are central to understanding the nature, management and working of small business enterprises.  Emphasis is on the specific characteristics of entrepreneurial leadership and motivation that founders have for starting and persevering to make a success of a small business enterprise.

Performance Requirements :

  1. Critically evaluate the characteristics, behaviour and motivations of small business enterprises.
  2. Assess the nature of the business environment as it affects small business enterprises and evaluate business opportunities and threats.
